We had a great start to a short four day week today. We focused on the potential for Saints in all of and Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. What a great way to celebrate her canonization with a dress down day and Pop Cycles as a treat after recess on a hot afternoon!
There is a new list of Word Journal vocabulary coming home in the book bag tonight. Please have your child read those words to you. When they know them without hesitation, sign the page and return the notebook to school. These are due back on Thursday.
You will also find a letter from the First Grade Teachers about first quarter skills and word cards. They need to be completed by next Monday, but if you finish them sooner, please send them to school. We will use them in class for different activities almost every day. I will remind the children to take them home each day to study with you for about 10 minutes every night. Continuous repetition will help them memorize these important sight words. I have included the index cards you purchased and a Zip Lock baggie with their name on it to place the cards in for daily storage.
