Summer Time

 Have a great summer.  Take time to read with your child a couple of times a week.  Practice the math fact flashcards once a week. It will be important to have your child continue to write through the summer.  Use a partial notebook left from this school year to have them journal about something that happened to them, informational facts they learned, or an opinion they have recently formed.  Check their work for correct capitalization and punctuation. Do this once a week also.  Be sure to have them say their prayers.

All these things will help prevent academic regression over the summer and provide a smooth transition to second grade.
