Wow, the children had loads of fun on Mission Party Day. A huge thank you to all the parents who volunteer to make the day go smoothly. The children enjoy the day, plus it is a great opportunity to teach global awareness and helping others less fortunate.
There is a new list of Word Journal Vocabulary coming home tonight with a new list of spelling words for this week. The pretest is Wednesday and the final test is Friday.
If all goes as planned , there will be math homework each evening this week, except for tonight.
Now for the really exciting news, when my father died in September he left me some of his hard earned money. I have decided to use some of the money to buy lap top computers for my students to use in my classroom. Hopefully, by the end of the week we will have SIX new lap top computers with cool designed cordless mice for the children to use to take the Scholastic reading counts tests. The more tests they take, the bigger prizes they earn. I hope to use time on the computers playing learning games as an incentive to the students when they complete good written work. My dad never liked computers but he would love the fact that he in a small way is helping the children learn reading comprehension and writing even better.
