Warm Weather

With the warm weather we have lots of fun activities planned.  I hope all parents saw the note from the first grade teachers that went home last week about out mini field trip to Chez Monet.  We are asking each first grade student to bring a $1.00 to buy their choice of a sweet treat.  This helps reinforce the skills with money we are working in class .  A few have brought in the dollar but not very many.  We are going this Friday, April 12.
There is also a note coming home this evening about attending Earth Day activities at the Capitol complex on April 26.  We need chaperones so that I can divide the class into small groups.  If all 19 students in the class have to wait at each station for each student to take a turn, they don't get to go to many of the activities and begin to get restless waiting.  I would like to have four chaperones to help that day if possible.
Continue the weekly routine of practicing the new list of Word Journal vocabulary and studying the spelling words.  The pretest is Wednesday and the final test is Friday.  There will be math home work on Wednesday and Thursday.  But no math homework tonight, 4-9.Don't forget to do the nightly reading.  So many children are adding points and earning lots of prizes!
