Reminders

You may have notice the Family Packet in the book bag on Friday.  Be sure look over the newsletter the first night that packet comes home.  There will be a phrase for you to write down on the packet with your signature.  When you return it signed and the designated words included, your child earns parent points for additional dress down days.
Also in the book bag on Friday was a Scholastic book order.  You can order the traditional way with the hard copy order form, or you can order on line using my classroom code.
Tonight the Word Journal is coming home with a new list of vocabulary.  As usual, have your child read the words to you.  When they can read them to you without hesitation, sign the page and return the notebook to school.   Because of the HOME AND SCHOOL MEETING on Tuesday night, the due date for this is Thursday, September 11th.
Speaking of the Home and School Meeting, I am looking forward to seeing all of you Tuesday at 6:30 in MLG for the first Home and School meeting of the school year.  There will be no homework that evening.
All the students had the 99 words cards completed today.  I am impressed with how many of the children are already practicing and know most of the words!
There is an important letter coming home this evening from the first grade teachers.  It is about the mid-quarter phone conference I like to have for this first quarter.  I enjoy making the personal contact just to touch base and see if you have any questions or concerns.  Please return the form indicating a time you are available to take my phone call.
