We did our first writing activity today. No one cried, including me! Sometimes it can be an intimidating thing for first grade students. They are bringing a notebook marked Story Book home in the book bag tonight. I taped a letter to the front inside cover explaining the Friday Journal entry. We practiced writing the date, skipping lines, writing the main idea and then they filled in the detail sentence. You will be amazed as we do a Friday Journal entry every week and compare their progress from this first entry. Please write back to them. They are thrilled when they get a response. I will check those over on Monday morning.
