We have a full five days this week with lots happening.
Tuesday is an early dismissal at 1:30 and a dress down day.
Wednesday is picture day.  Remember it is regular school dress code for that day. There is NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE THAT day.
Friday marks the middle of the first quarter.  Time is flying.

As for homework this week, be sure to check the FISH Folders.  There is a note about a phone conference for this first mid-quarter.  I will be calling to touch base with you about your child's progress in the next few weeks.
There is also a note from me about the reading incentive programs, Scholastic Reading Counts and Pizza Hut Book-It.  Each evening the children will take home beginning reading books to read with you.  When they have read the book with you, return the book and initial the book log in the FISH Folder.  When the book is returned and the book log has your initials, the child receives a sticker on the chart in the classroom.  The children will be able to take tests over these books and earn points.  With those points, comes prizes.  Along with those prizes, the children can earn coupons for free food at Pizza Hut.  So start reading every night! 
There will be math homework each night this week.
Look for a new list of Word Journal vocabulary coming home tonight.  The words this week are more difficult.  We read over them and even made a Word document in the computer lab today and typed them for more practice.
The 100 Sight Words cards were assigned last week and due at school today. Not all of the children had them.  It is so important for your child's success in first grade to know these words.  So, please take a few minutes three days a week to review them. I have asked the children to bring them to school tomorrow, too.
