Here are just a few reminders for this week.
     We have started to memorize math facts.  There is a little rap we use to help us remember the doubles.  Ask your child is they can say it to you.  There will be math homework every night this week.
     You may have heard we are studying all about apples. we have talked about the life cycle of an apple in science.  In math we have snacked on apples and used the seeds to make math problems. 
Next week, we will read stories about John Chapman, also known as Johnny Appleseed. 
     Today the children took the Foundation Reading Test on the computer through the Scholastic Reading Counts Program.  Some of the children did very well and are ready to start taking the comprehension tests over the books they reading from our classroom at night with you.  I am so proud of them.
     There is a new list of Word Journal vocabulary to study for the next few nights.  Continue to read the books at home and sign the book log nightly.  Don't forget to study those 100 sight words cards, too.
