One More Thing

Thank you for all the great Appreciation Gifts the last few weeks.  I love the look of sincerity as each child hands me the gift first thing in the morning as they enter the room.
And now the very last bit of information but truly the most important.  Your child has worked so hard and learned an amazing amount of information this year.   I am so proud of them. 
Academic regression over the summer is difficult for some children to over come at the beginning of the school year. So many times when children get off to a slow start in August parents tell me "We just took the summer off and that probably wasn't the best thing for my child."   So, please, please, please have your children read to you out loud a couple of times every week.  Practice those math fact flashcard cards and 100 Word cards that just came home in the book bag every week this summer.  And use the pages that are left in the Story Book notebook to have them write sentences with capital letters and periods.   This will insure a smooth transition to second grade and a fantastic start to their school year.
