Recognition and counting coins are our big focus now. The students will have a page of math dealing with counting coins for homework each night this week. They are required to return them completed the next day. Take time to work with them over the pages. Some of the children will breeze right through it. If your child does not, get out some loose change and practice counting coins up to a dollar in value. The biggest sticking point is when there is quarter and dimes. A few are having a hard time knowing to count by tens starting with 25 and then moving to 35. They want to say 25 and then 30.
There is a new list of Word Journal vocab and a new spelling list. The pretest is Wednesday and the final test is Friday. Remember to continue with the nightly reading assignments.
Have your child do a small chore to earn some change for the collection at church on Wednesday. We are super focused on prayer, fasting and alms giving this Lenten Season.
