Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week got off to s great start.  Today was packed with activities.  Ask your child about the prayer service, cookie decorating, card making and pep assembly.
Don't forget about the Volunteer Appreciations breakfast on Tuesday morning.  The children can dress up like saints or super heroes tomorrow as well. We have a Youth Rally in the morning and we will watch the Show Choir from Helias in the afternoon. 
Wednesday the students will enjoy mini courses in the morning and we have Mass in the afternoon.  BIG REMINDER, First Grade Family Fun Night is Wednesday at 6:00 in MLG.  There will be no homework that evening for the first grade.
Thursday is a dress down day.   We will also participate in a school wide scavenger hunt.
Friday the students may bring $2.00 to purchase a drink and a snack to enjoy while they watch the faculty beat the 8th grade in a volleyball game.
There is a new list of Word Journal vocabulary coming home this evening.  Look over them with your child.  Honestly today was so packed with CSW activities we did not have much time to work on them So, review them a bit these next few nights and send the notebook back signed by Friday.  There will be a nightly reading assignment for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights this week but not Wednesday.  The reading over the weekend is always optional.
I am planning on giving a spelling pretest on Wednesday with the final test on Friday.  The list should have come home in the book bag tonight with the new list of Word Journal vocabulary. The focus this week is long o spelled oa and ow.
